  25.    probabely I'm not the first to ask, but how exactly 
  26. can I tell xdvik(-18d) to look for pk files in . and
  27. ls-R _only_. I tried to enter

  31. in texmf/texmf.cnf and yes it reads texmf.cnf, but it 
  32. doesn't even stat ls-R. Instead, it recursively looks 
  33. for vf directories ...

  35. If possible, I'd like to keep Makefile and sources untouched,
  36. i.e. the binary "configure;make" have created should not
  37. change, only to edit a configuration file ...
